SUPPORTING OUR FUTURE

The Humboldt Education Foundation (HEF) is an organization that helps support the students and teachers of the Humboldt Unified School District. We are proud to support the following community projects.

Teacher of the Year
The Humboldt Education Foundation is presenting the Teacher of the Year celebration each Spring to honor the amazing work our teachers do every day. Teachers are nominated by the students, teachers from each school in the HUSD will be recognized and two will be selected as Teachers of the Year (1 for Elementary and 1 for Secondary).
Hungry Kids Project
Inspired by board member Carm Staker, the founder of the Hungry Kids Project, we serve the children in the Humboldt Unified School District that have been recommended by school staff as those who may not have access to adequate weekend meals. Students are provided enough food for 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 2 dinners over the weekend.
Bear Dash 5K
The Bear Dash is an annual 5k walk/run event sponsored by the Humboldt Education Foundation and Jimmy Johns. Athletes from all around Arizona and nearing states gather Saturday morning after the Prescott Valley Days parade to run 3.1 miles.
Student Scholarships
The Humboldt Education Foundation Carm Staker Student Scholarship is awarded each year to an outstanding Bradshaw Mountain High School graduating senior. The scholarship award is open specifically to all graduating Seniors at Bradshaw Mountain High School.
Teacher Grants
Multiple classroom grants valued at $500 each are being offered to teachers within the Humboldt Unified School District (HUSD) and requires a description of the project needing funding and the number of students that will benefit from it. This opportunity helps HEF provide community support for excellence in education.
Orchestra Program
Humboldt Education Foundation's (HEF) School Orchestra Program is a multi-phased, community-based effort to bring orchestra into the elementary and middle schools of the Humboldt Unified School District (HUSD). The program is run by community volunteers in cooperation with HUSD as a before-and after-school program.
